Jean Paul ALIX was born in Toulouse in 1958.
He lives in the South-west of France, his workshop is opened to everyone, forming a space of cultural creation. The friendliness of people from South-west is not a failure in these places.
After being devoted a time to photography he quite naturally found its way with painting.
Self-taught painter for six years, inspired and guided during his first steps by stays of work in Lubéron, he let his knife “carve” the materials.
The beauty of reproduction is essential, the chromatic power is there, the reds, the oranges, the blue ones, contribute to give us a more enjoyable life, living in the colour…
Some people say that we cannot analyze his paintings, they are “knocks of heart”, we stop, surprised sometimes by the interpretation of the subjects, “not to leave indifferent! ”, like a useful aesthetic recreation.
In permanent exposure in Pont Aven, he took his inspiration from what the famous ones discovered there. This so particular luminosity he retranscribes it to us with happiness and colour… astonishing !
To discover.
On request he realizes mural frescos resulting from this inspiration.
